We are looking for a Curator of Gardens and Landscape History to join our team. The role is full time and for a fixed term of 1 year, working 36 hours per week.

This is a great opportunity to work within the Gardens and Landscape Team undertaking research into the historic gardens and designed landscapes of English Heritage properties and helping to support conservation projects, the production of on-site visitor interpretation and digital content.

As Curator of Gardens and Landscape History, you will provide expert

information to share the stories of our historic gardens and landscapes and inform decision-making relating to the care of these important heritage assets.

You will undertake and commission research, developing and advising on gardens and landscape policy, management and practice, and supporting operational teams by providing support, guidance, advice and training. You will also support the delivery of historical content across multiple platforms including on-site interpretation, website, members magazine, podcast and social media, as well as personal appearances (talks and tours).

To be considered as a Curator of Gardens and Landscape History, you'll need:

- Experience of working within the heritage sector with specific experience of historic gardens and landscapes

- Experience of engaging the public within the horticultural and/or heritage sectors

- Bachelor's degree, postgraduate qualification and/or equivalent experience in the heritage and/or museum sector, in particular historic gardens or landscapes

- Broad knowledge of the development of gardens and landscapes in England and beyond

- A willingness to collaborate, establish shared priorities and work collegiately

Interviews will be held on 1st August on Microsoft Teams. If your application is successful the desired starting date would be 15th September 2025.
