How it works
We interrogate jobs advertised on your website, categorise the attributes into a set of standards, and present these to job seekers on this website in a searchable format. This is automated deterministically, with a manual intervention on our part prior to publication here if the automation is not able to arrive at a conclusion on a particular attribute. It is the automation that allows for a dramatic reduction in cost. There is no uploading, notification nor any other manual step on the advertisers part on a per job basis. A potential candidate is directed back to the original job listing and your own application processes.
Eligibility
We advertise jobs for workplaces and organisations in the museum and heritage sector. We take a broad definition of this to include sites governed by charity, council, commercial or any other type of organisation, so long as you are delivering heritage to the public. From archaeologists working on an excavation site, to librarians working where there is a local history archive.
The jobs we advertise are those that a job seeker would associate with a career or work in heritage or a heritage setting, not just for museum curators! We do carry advertisements for back office staff, catering and events, archives and warehouses not open to the public for heritage focused organisations.
We do not advertise jobs in the broader cultural space, such as galleries without a permanent collection, commercial galleries, arts centres or theatres. We do not advertise jobs that might be associated with a heritage venue but are not associated with delivering a heritage experience, examples include property companies associated with country houses, farms associated with estates, academic staff not directly servicing a museum, or exclusively private houses not open to the public that just happen to be old. Other off-heritage occupations include nature conservation and holidays.
This site is for paid positions only, with the exception that we will list openings for Trustees.
There are certain technical requirements in terms of the original job presentation that need to be met.
