Programme Manager
We’re looking for an experienced and organised Programme Manager to join the National Trust on a fixed-term basis until 31st December 2025. You'll lead the final phase of International National Trusts Organisation’s ‘Withstanding Change’ project, funded by the British Council. INTO brings together the global National Trust movement to share knowledge and champion cultural and natural heritage.
You’ll be responsible for project planning, budgets, reporting, and supporting governance through regular board meetings. Managing a Project Officer, you’ll also work closely with internal teams and international partners to deliver impact across the heritage sector.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there’ll be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there’s flexibility on where you’re based at other times. You’ll be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This’ll be discussed in more detail at interview. Please note that travel may be required both nationally and internationally.
You’ll keep the project on track, ensuring it meets funder requirements and delivers strong impact. You may also represent INTO at conferences and public events. We’re looking for someone creative, proactive, and confident working with a wide range of people and organisations.
The project promotes the link between climate and heritage through case studies in six countries, where teams will carry out vital conservation work on historic buildings at risk. Public engagement will highlight the value of heritage and how communities can help protect it.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:- proven experience delivering complex projects from start to finish, including resource planning, procurement, and team co-ordination across multiple workstreams
- a recognised project or programme management qualification (e.g. APM PMQ, PRINCE2, MSP), or working towards one, with a commitment to ongoing professional development
- problem-solving and influencing skills, with confidence working with senior leaders
- skilled in managing complex external stakeholder relationships
