Job Description

As the public face of our properties, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.

Salary: £13.25 per hour (£25,837 FTE)

Contract Duration: 12 month fixed term contract with the possibility of extension

Working Pattern: 585 hours per year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. The hours you will be required to work are between Wednesday - Sunday 12-5pm. Week 1, you will work 2 days, totalling 9 hours. Week 2 you will work 3 days, totalling 13.5 hours. These weeks will then repeat with the added flexibility of covering holiday leave. The hall is also open Bank holiday Mondays, meaning these days will also need to be covered. You will work alongside your colleagues to make sure holidays are covered and the mansion has a representative every day it is open. The mansion is open March - October 5 days, Wednesday - Sunday including bank holiday Mondays. The hall opens for 4 weekends at Christmas, Friday - Sunday, and then is closed between December - February. During the winter months your hours will be worked in reception.

Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you’ll be part of a team of the visitor welcome team working at Speke Hall. The roles will be based at the Vestibule of Speke Hall mansion. You will be responsible for welcoming our visitors and giving them an exceptional greeting to start their visit. You will manage the amount of people entering the mansion at any one time to make sure the hall doesn't become overwhelmed. You will play a key part in supporting our house volunteers within your working day.

Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion - no two days are the same. Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with enthusiasm for delivering great customer service.
