Job Description

This role is all about keeping our places running smoothly so they can be enjoyed by everyone, every day. As a Facilities & Support Services Co-ordinator, you’ll provide an efficient, flexible and customer focused facilities and business support service within a technically complex property or portfolio. From ensuring compliance and safety to supporting colleagues, volunteers and contractors, you’ll play a vital role in creating welcoming, well run places that connect people with nature, beauty and history.

You’ll support the day to day delivery of facilities and business support services across your property or portfolio, helping maintain high standards of compliance, safety, presentation and customer service. Your work may include coordinating planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, supporting health, safety, fire and security requirements, maintaining accurate records, business and financial systems, and supporting contract and budget management.You’ll work closely with colleagues, volunteers and contractors, sharing information and ideas for improvement, and acting as a reliable point of contact for internal and external queries. You’ll also help ensure facilities are managed in line with conservation principles, working sustainably and promoting environmentally responsible ways of working. At times, you may supervise others, support volunteers, or take responsibility for specific technical or specialist areas at your site.

We’re looking for someone who is organised, practical and customer focused, with a genuine interest in caring for places and supporting others. You’ll bring: • Experience in a facilities, support services, business support or customer/visitor facing environment.• A good understanding of health, safety, fire and security procedures, with a commitment to working safely.• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage records, systems and multiple tasks effectively.• Confidence working with IT systems, including Microsoft Office and digital tools.• A flexible, collaborative approach and a willingness to work alongside and support volunteers.• Good communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.• An eye for detail, with an understanding of value for money and efficient use of resources.• An interest in, or understanding of, the purpose and work of the National Trust.
